OCCMS success defies COVID pressures and downturn in Oil and Gas industry
Specialist Commissioning firm OCCMS has announced significant growth in the business with the re-expansion of the completions and commissioning services. This move augments the already solid order book in the supply of Orbit™, OCCMS’s in-house developed Completions and Commissioning software.
Barry Cann, OCCMS MD says: “It is great to be back to leading a truly independent, agile and specialist completions and commissioning business. I was the original MD for OCCMS when created back in 2006/7, and our success then was mainly on the services side. The initial priority for me was to quickly re-establish these services but for that to be fully integrated with the successful and ongoing development of Orbit.”
A new approach called Professional Contractor Model (PCM) engagement was key to attracting the right talent, with the right attitudes, behaviours, experience, and competencies to underpin this new services arm. The objective of the service is to empower for safe performance in delivery and the acquisition of fair cost efficiencies.
OCCMS Delivery Lead Jamie Japp says: “Having our services underpinned by our industry-leading technology Orbit™ and this new PCM engagement process has secured some significant long-term contracts and helped drive significant growth in OCCMS. This is despite the obvious and difficult trading conditions in 2020/21 which bodes well for the future.”
Supporting the expansion of the commissioning services arm of the business in addition to deploying Orbit™ on new diverse projects throughout 2020/21 has seen the OCCMS software development and support team grow by 50% in the last two years despite the downturn in the industry and the uncertainties of the global pandemic, enabling Orbit™ to continue to evolve as the industry’s leading completions management system, with focus on advanced procedures, joint integrity, and enhancements to electronic checksheets for field-based execution of checksheets, preservation and punchlisting on tablet devices.
